Colorado Springs: Land of Opportunity

Colorado Springs: Land of Opportunity

Looking for work? Check out these tips!

According to the most recent unemployment information on Simply Hired for Colorado Springs, the area currently has an unemployment rate of 7.0% - which is actually pretty low compared to many other cities around the country. Any percentage of above 0 is likely not welcome news to anyone in the area looking for work, but we can't have it all, can we?

So, what is an unemployed person in Colorado Springs to do?

First, make sure to stay on top of things and really put your best foot forward when applying for employment - mood can absolutely effect the outcome so the more positive you can be the better!

Second, make sure to take advantage of every opportunity you are given to get the word out that you are looking for a job. Tell all of your friends, family, old coworkers, and anyone else who will listen that you are ready and willing to work. Post your resume on your blog, facebook, and other social media. Really get involved and let everyone know that you are serious by following up on every lead.

Third, and probably the most unlikely thing you can do to help yourself is to get out and volunteer your time. I say this is unlikely because not many people would consider this, but volunteer work can build your resume (which could help you land your dream job) - or you might even get a job at the organization you are volunteering at!

So, as long as you follow the 1,2,3's your next job might be right around the corner.
