News out of Colorado Springs job market centers on the expansion of Wal-Mart. The company has announced it will be moving ahead with its places to open several smaller grocery stores throughout the area. In doing so, it will create jobs; though no official number has yet been given to the number of jobs the expansion will offer to the Colorado Springs job market.
The company purchased the former King Sooopers building located on Platte Avenue and Murray Boulevard. The company paid $1.65 for the purchase and made that purchase on January 20th of this year. The information is publically available with the El Paso County Clerk's Office. The company officially says it will take the existing structures and then remodel them into new stores. This building has stood vacant since 2006 when the previous company shuddered its doors in the wake of the recession.
